How long does my hair need to be? +

About the length of a grain of rice (2-3 weeks of growth). If it's too short, the wax can't properly grip the hair. If it's too long, don't worry I will trim it for you!

Will I be completely smooth on my first visit? +

Hair grows in cycles, not all at once. At your first appointment, some hairs are long enough to remove, while others are still underneath the skin or too short to grab. That means you might notice a little growth within 1-2 weeks. This is completely normal. After 2-4 consistent appointments (every 4-6 weeks) your hair cycles start syncing up and your results last much longer.

Does waxing hurt? +

Let's be real… yes, a little. BUT it's quick, and the more consistent you are (every 4-6 weeks), the easier it gets. Most clients say it's way less scary than they imagined.

How often should I get waxed? +

Every 4-6 weeks is ideal. Consistency is key, which is why my clients who stay on schedule have the smoothest results.

Can I get waxed on my period? +

Absolutely, all I ask is you wear a tampon or menstrual cup to your appointment.

What should I avoid before my appointment? +

Avoid retinol 7 days before your appointment (for facial waxing), tanning or sunburned skin, shaving 2-3 weeks prior, and excessive caffeine or alcohol on the day of your appointment, as they can increase sensitivity. Wear loose clothing to prevent friction and irritation afterward.

What should I avoid after my wax (24-48 hours)? +

Avoid hot tubs, saunas, heavy sweating, pools, beaches, tight clothing, intimate activities, workouts, shaving, fragranced lotions, perfumes, body oils, or creams.

What should I do for aftercare? +

Wash with fragrance-free soap, moisturize daily, & exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a physical or chemical exfoliator. Need product recommendations? I carry professional-grade options at The Babe Cave to prevent ingrowns and irritation.

Will waxing make my hair grow back thicker? +

Nope! That's a myth babe. With consistent waxing, hair often grows back finer and more sparse.

I'm nervous- it's my first time +

Do not worry babe, I got you. This is what I do all day everyday. I'll talk you through everything as I am doing it and keep things moving. First-time visits may take slightly longer so I can work in smaller sections and keep you as comfortable as possible. And lucky for you.. I talk a lot, so it helps distract from the service.

Can I wax if I'm pregnant? +

Yes! I've waxed clients right up until their due date.

WAXING FAQ's

What is a facial service? +

A professional skincare treatment tailored to treat your specific need, whether we're targeting acne, pigment, anti-aging, or just an overall refresh!

What are the benefits of a facial? +

Deep cleansing of the pores, exfoliating off dead skin cells, extractions, intense hydration to promote a healthy glow, and a total confidence boost!

How often should I be getting facials? +

Ideally every 4-6 weeks to maintain the best results!

I'm new to facials, what should I book? +

I recommend all first time clients to book the Signature Facial for their first go-around! This will give us plenty of time to talk about your skin history, goals, & everything in between! All of our facials are priced all inclusive— meaning you don't need to worrying about add-ons & up charges! We'll incorporate whatever is best for your skin, all included.

I'm not targeting a specific concern, I just want to relax and pamper myself! What should I book? +

The Relaxation Facial was made for you! This facial focuses on massage, relaxation, and hydration!

Do facials hurt? +

Facials are a relaxing and enjoyable service! There may be some discomfort during extractions, but this is minimal.

How should I prep for my facial? +

Stop the use of retinols, & other prescription strength topicals 3 days prior to your appointment. No Botox or fillers 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Reminder, it is not recommended to receive facial services if you are on Accutane or similar medications.

What should I know for after my appointment? +

Avoid sun exposure, saunas, swimming, and wearing makeup after your appointment. Next day you'll be good to go!

Is there downtime? +

This will depend on your specific service, but for the most part, no. You may experience some redness or mild sensitivities for an hour or two after your appointment. More advanced treatments, such as chemical peels, dermaplaning, and acne care, may have more down time but this will be discussed with you at your appointment.

Are there products I should be using at home, in between treatments? +

A solid home care routine is the golden ticket to glowing skin! We can help you create a customized plan, as simple or thorough as you choose, to repair and protect your skin.

FACIALS FAQ's

What is a brow lamination? +

Brow lamination is a chemical treatment that restructures the brow hairs so they can be brushed into a fuller, lifted, more uniform shape. It gives that fluffy, lifted look and lasts about 6-8 weeks.

What is a lash lamination? +

A lash lift is a chemical treatment that lifts and curls your lashes from the root, making them appear longer and more defined. Results typically last 6-8 weeks.

Do I need a patch test? +

A patch test is recommended for first time lamination clients or anyone with sensitive skin, allergies, or a history of reactions to cosmetic products. The patch test involves applying a small amount of solution behind the ear or on the inner arm 24-48 hours before appointment to check for irritation or allergic reaction. While reactions are rare, lamination solutions are chemical treatments, so safety always comes first.

What happens if I skip the patch test? +

If you choose to waive the patch test, you are acknowledging that there is a small risk or irritation or allergic reaction. By proceeding with the service, you accept that risk

What if I have a reaction? +

If you experience redness, itching, swelling, or irritation after a patch test, you should not proceed with the service. If any reaction occurs after your appointment, contact me immediately and seek medical attention if necessary.

Does brow or lash lamination hurt? +

No. You may feel a slight tingling, but it should never burn or feel painful. If you feel discomfort at any time, tell me immediately.

How long do results last? +

Most clients enjoy results for 6-8 weeks. Proper aftercare and keeping the hairs conditioned can help extend your results.

Can I wear makeup after? +

Yes, but wait 24 hours before applying mascara, brow products, or getting the area wet. After that, you're good to go!

What should I avoid before my brow or lash lamination appointment? +

Retinol, tretinoin, or exfoliating acids around the brow area for 5-7 days. Brow tinting, bleaching, or chemical treatments within 2 weeks, self tanner on the face (especially around brows), excessively oily products on the day of your appointment. Please arrive with clean brows/lashes- no makeup, mascara, or brow products

What should I avoid after my appointment (24 hours)? +

Water, sweating, saunas, hot tubs, makeup on the treated area, or sleeping face down.

Will lamination damage my brows or lashes? +

When done properly and spaced correctly (every 6-8 weeks), lamination is safe. I also recommend using a conditioning serum to keep the hairs healthy and hydrated between appointments.

Who is not a good candidate? +

You may not be a good candidate if you have extremely sensitive skin, have active eye infection or irritation, have damaged or over processed lash or brow hairs, are currently using retinols or certain prescription acne medications. If you are unsure, message me before booking.

Can I get a lamination while pregnant? +

Many pregnant clients choose to wait due to increased sensitivity, but it is generally considered safe. Always check with your doctor if you have concerns.
